The recognition, awarded in a category reached by only 15% of the evaluated companies, is a distinction granted to organizations with outstanding performance in sustainable management.
Artecola celebrates receiving the EcoVadis Silver Medal, an international recognition that evaluates companies’ sustainability and ESG practices based on some of the world’s leading standards, such as the UN Global Compact, ISO 26000, and the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). EcoVadis certification is among the three most widely used in the world, present in more than 185 countries and across 250 different sectors, with over 150,000 evaluations conducted. “The Silver Medal is awarded only to the top 15% of analyzed companies that achieve the highest scores; therefore, it is of great importance for Artecola to receive this distinction. We now have a document that certifies our level of sustainable management across all continents and markets, recognizing the practices we have adopted for years within our sustainability vision,” celebrates CEO Eduardo Kunst.
The company had already gone through a previous evaluation cycle, initially achieving the Bronze category. “This year, we advanced in defining indicators across all plants and also improved the information we presented, as in some cases we already had well-established practices but did not present them adequately. With this effort, and by increasingly involving all company units in the sustainable management process, we reached the Silver level,” explains ESG specialist Alessandra Lemos.
To obtain the certification, Artecola underwent a rigorous evaluation based on 139 criteria, covering four strategic pillars: Environment, Ethics, Labor Practices and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. Its outstanding performance positioned the company among the top 9% of companies in its sector. Artecola’s sustainability management is structured around three fronts: Chemistry of Sustainable Innovation, Chemistry that Connects and Develops People, and Multilatina Chemistry and Transformation Catalyst. The company has been carbon neutral since 2022, and more than 70% of its revenue comes from sustainable products.
